iPRI welcomes Professor Annie Young

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Professor Annie Young at iPRI as Senior Research Fellow.

Annie Young

Annie Young is Emeritus Professor of Nursing at Warwick Medical School, working in clinical research. Her research portfolio encompasses the management of thrombosis in cancer patients, symptomatic care including prevention of chemotherapy-associated alopecia and nausea and vomiting. Rehabilitation for cancer patients and new technologies for monitoring side effects of cancer therapies are special interests. Annie Young heads up the acute toxicities subgroup of the UK National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Supportive and Palliative Care Clinical Studies Group and is involved in many international cancer nursing and cancer organisations. She is a Board member of the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC). Annie Young also teaches oncology nursing in sub-Saharan Africa, alongside local nurses and has a strong commitment to work in lower-resource countries.
